What is critical illness cover?

Critical illness cover can support you and your family financially, by paying out a lump sum if you ever became unwell with a range of serious conditions such as cancer, heart attack or stroke or any of the conditions listed in our Policy Terms and Conditions.

It can be purchased alongside your life insurance at the time of purchase, for additional protection if you were ever to fall critically ill. Unfortunately, the bills don’t stop if you were ever to fall critically ill. As it is not always possible to continue working whilst recovering from a critical illness such as cancer, the lump sum can help remove some of the financial stress and give you and your loved one’s financial peace of mind whilst you focus on your recovery.

What conditions are covered?

Our critical illness cover pays out if you are diagnosed with the most common serious illnesses such as cancer, heart attacks, strokes or any of the conditions listed in our Policy Terms and Conditions.

The conditions which cover you, also apply to child critical illness cover if you decide to add this onto your critical illness cover. See Policy Terms & Conditions.

It’s worth noting that if you claim on a full critical illness condition your cover will end and you’ll no longer be covered for critical illness cover.

For existing customers, please refer to your individual T&Cs in your policy documents which will specify the conditions you are covered for.”
