What does children's critical illness cover?
When you buy critical illness cover from Beagle Street, you can add children’s critical illness cover, which pays out if your child is diagnosed with the most common serious illnesses such as cancer, heart attack, stroke or any of the conditions listed in our policy terms and conditions.
Children’s critical illness cover is not a standalone product, so you need to add it on to your critical illness cover as the parent or guardian at the time of purchase. This means that if your child develops a condition listed in the illnesses we cover, then the main policyholder (the parent or legal guardian of the child) can make a claim.
How much cover can you provide for my child?
The amount of children’s critical illness cover is 25% of the main policy holder’s critical illness cover amount and we will pay out up to a maximum of £25,000 per child, whichever is lower.
For example:
If you were to take out £100,000 worth of critical illness cover for yourself and add on children’s critical illness cover, then the maximum payout you could receive from a children’s critical illness claim would be £25,000
The payout amount would also be £25,000 if you had £200,000 worth of critical illness cover as this is the maximum.
How many children can I cover?
We can pay one claim per child, and this will automatically cover all children born after the policy is taken out (no need to notify us). There is also no maximum number of children you can cover.

For existing customers, please refer to your individual T&Cs in your policy documents which will specify the conditions you are covered for.
