Types of claims
Making a claim can be daunting. Be assured our bereavement trained claims team are on hand to guide you and your loved ones through any type of claim you may make.
A life insurance claim can be made if a policyholder passes away during the policy term. A lump-sum payment is provided to the beneficiary, chosen by the policy holder when they plan their estate.
Beagle Street include terminal illness cover as standard with your life insurance. If you’re diagnosed with less than a year to live, you can claim for an early payout.
If you have critical illness cover with your policy and you are diagnosed with any of the serious illnesses in the policy terms and conditions applicable to your policy, you can make a claim. The payment would be made as a lump sum following a critical illness diagnosis.
If your child, or any future children you may have, is diagnosed with any of the serious illnesses in the policy terms and conditions applicable to your policy, the main policyholder can make a claim. Following a diagnosis, your payment will be made as a lump sum.

Your loved ones can call us on 0800 072 9831 to speak to one of our trained bereavement specialists and start the process.
Step 2
We will provide them with a claims form to send back to us with any details or documents needed to make an assessment.
Step 3
Once the claim has been validated, this will be paid in 2-3 working days of approval, once all checks have been completed.
What help is available throughout your claim?
If an approved claim is delayed as a result of probate, we can provide a £5,000 advance payment to cover the cost of the deceased’s funeral. This will help relieve some immediate financial burdens until the full claim is paid out.
Our companions service offers access to a dedicated personal nurse, to provide long-term practical advice and emotional support throughout your claim and to your loved ones afterwards.
If your loved ones are calling to make a claim, we know it will be an extremely distressing time for them. That’s why all our claims handlers go through a bespoke bereavement training programme, so you know your loved ones will always be treated with the utmost care and compassion.
You can make an early claim on your life insurance policy if you’re diagnosed with less than 12 months to live before the last 12 months of your policy. This is included as standard on all Beagle Street policies and allows you to put your affairs in order whilst you’re still here.
How long does a claim take?
We make every effort to handle all claims as quickly as we can. Each claim is dealt with on an individual basis, and we may require further information from your GP and Consultants to help us assess your claim. This may take time to obtain, but we will keep in contact with you or your loved ones to keep you updated throughout.
If we receive a death claim, our insurer may require medical evidence or probate once approved but don’t worry, our team are here to keep you informed on the position of a claim.
